On July 13, 2020, the 78th pre-session<\/a> of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women took place. As a result, the Committee will formulate questions for countries whose official reports will soon be considered, including Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the pre-session, ADC Memorial and the Russian LGBT Network presented a statement<\/a> highlighting violations faced by women in the field of employment (list of banned professions, harassment at work or in educational institutions, new risks related to the pandemic), as well as the problems of women victims of multiple discrimination (based on ethnic origin, migration status, religious beliefs, SOGI etc.).<\/p>\n

The state report of the Russian Federation on the implementation of the Convention on the elimination of discrimination against women will be considered by the Committee in February 2021.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
