The new tool for the protection of the rights of stateless persons presented on July 15, 2021 by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statelessness.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\">European Network on Statelessness<\/a> is designed to help practicing lawyers, researchers, Human Rights defenders working around the world to solve the problem of statelessness. It will also be useful for policy makers and state institutions responsible for documenting, granting status, legalizing stateless persons, refugees and migrants.<\/p>\n<p>The Database, in particular, includes a very important strategic case &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.statelessness.eu\/node\/22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\">Kim v. Russia<\/a>&#8221; (2014); the European Court of Human Rights <a href=\"https:\/\/adcmemorial.org\/en\/publications\/human-rights-report-of-adc-memorial-violations-of-the-rights-of-stateless-persons-and-foreign-citizens-in-temporary-foreign-national-detention-centers-in-light-of-the-echr-judgment-in-kim-v-russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\">clearly spoke<\/a> about the systemic problem of stateless persons originated from the former republics of the USSR who have been living in the Russian Federation for years and decades being deprived of basic Human Rights, without access to the legalization procedure.<\/p>\n<p>Together with the cases ruled by international courts, the Database also includes cases on national level. This is, for example, a very important <a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.statelessness.eu\/node\/20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\">case of Noe Mskhiladze<\/a>, won by ADC Memorial in the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation (2017).
