Starting March 1, 2022, female aircraft mechanics and technicians will be able to work in Russia in their chosen professional occupation. According to the new order<\/a> issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the list of industries, jobs, and positions in which women\u2019s employment was limited has been adjusted.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the new order, jobs of an aviation mechanic (technician) on airframes and engines, instruments and electrical equipment, radio equipment, parachute, and emergency rescue equipment, or an aviation technician in fuels and lubricants, a wing technician, an engineer employed directly on maintenance of aircraft (including helicopters) are no longer restricted to male employees only.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Women are now in a position to receive education and training in these professional occupations, however, they will be able to work officially on these jobs starting March 1, 2022, the date the order comes into force.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The existence of a list of professional occupations, which were recognized as dangerous for women, reinforces discriminatory stereotypes and segregation in the work sphere. This list should be completely abolished!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
