Booklet “Looking for paths of remembrance” published

The project “National-socialist genocide of Roma – looking for paths of remembrance” was carried out by the Anti-Discrimination Centre Memorial together with the Documentation and Cultural Centre of German Sinti and Roma in Heidelberg, supported by the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future.

The Roma students from Russia and Germany visited the places of mass extermination of the Roma people by the fascists during the Second World War – the Brest fortress in Belarus, the Museum of Warsaw Uprising and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and State Museum in Poland, the Holocaust Museum in Moscow, the places of mass executions of Roma in the Smolensk and Pskov regions in Russia. The students met historians working on the genocide of the Roma people, recorded the stories told by the witnesses of these tragic events. The last part of the visit was a seminar in St Petersburg.
