The problems of school education of Roma children

On November, 2009 a round-table discussion on the problems of school education of Roma children was held in the ADC MEMORIAL, St Petersburg. Participants were teachers from Lipetsk, Penza, Ryazan, Astrakhan and Tula who already take part in the ADC MEMORIAL project aimed at overcoming the disparity in school education for children of minorities, supported by Save the Children Sweden. The main event activity was the presentation of a textbook entitled Students Book for bilingual ABC-book (Russian and Romanes) by I. Piskunova and A. Surkova, the teachers from school No 46, Volgograd. The authors have a great experience of teaching at primary school. Methods of teaching human rights at school and the training on Basics of Preventing Professional Burnout of Teachers by psychologist Ilia Berdyshev were among other activities.
