ADC “Memorial” supported alternative report on the situation of indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East

ADC “Memorial” supported alternative report to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination regarding discrimination against indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation. The report was prepared by the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA), Myski local civic organization
“Revival of Kazas and the Shor People”, Institute for Ecology and
Action Anthropology (INFOE) and Greenpeace Russia.

The 93rd Session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which will include consideration of the report, will open on July 31, 2017. The official Russian delegation will submit state report and answer the questions of the Committee on August 3-4, 2017.
