Feedback ADC MEMORIAL has submitted an alternative report “The situation of Children belonging to vulneruble groups in Russia” to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. The report concerns such problems as hate crime and police violence against minorities children ; forced separation of children and their parents in the course of forced evictions and deportations of migrants, law living standards of minorities children; difficulties with access to education for Roma and migrant children (e.g. segregation at some schools); violation of the right of children to information and criticism of the recently adopted law prohobiting “propaganda of homosexualism among minors’ and related restrictions, harmful traditional practices.
The Committee on the Rights of the Child will discuss with the Russian delegation an official report in January, 2014; a pre-session will take place in June 2013.
