Conference “Empowerment of Roma women” in Sweden

On June 1-2, 2012 in Stockholm there was a conference “Empowerment of Roma women” organized by NGO “Neve gindoske zuvlia» (New Thinking Women’s Network). Women from Romani communities of Sweden (Kelderash, Lovari, Finska Roma) who work in the field of women’s and children’s rights participated in the event. Erik Ullenhag, minister of integration, Roger Haddad, member of the parliament, Karin Skoglund from the Stockholm government spoke on behalf of the authorities about the efforts of the Swedish state on integration of Roma people.

Olga Abramenko, director of ADC MEMORIAL, delivered a report on the Roma situation in Russia, about the problems of Roma settlements, about the work of ADC in the field of Roma rights.
