Youth march to support women’s rights protection in Kyrgyzstan will raise the slogan for the abolition of the list of 450 jobs prohibited for women

On 20 January, 2018 young volunteer leaders of the Human Rights Movement “Bir Duino-Kyrgyzstan” will conduct a peaceful march to support protection of women’s rights in Kyrgyzstan. The purpose of this event is a vivid demonstration of disagreement of young people with unfair situations that take place in the country: early marriages, bride kidnapping, polygamy, pedophilia, domestic and sexual violence, harassment at work, slavery and human trafficking. One of the slogans will be “Cancel the Resolution prohibiting 450 types of work for women!”

This action is timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Women’s March Global, which will be held around the world on 20-21 January, 2018. We recall that on 21 January, 2017 more than 6 million women and supporters from 600 cities of the world took part in a demonstration in the form of a march to support all women of the world and pave the way to creating the world where equal opportunities exist without gender-based discrimination and violence.
